Mr. Durham obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University in 1978, with honors, and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1981, with honors. Mr. Durham is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas and all Courts in the State of Texas. Mr. Durham is a member of the State Bar of Texas and a Proctor member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States. Mr. Durham is also certified as an arbitrator with the Houston Maritime Arbitration Association.

Mr. Durham focuses his practice on commercial and non-personal injury maritime cases. These include trials of cargo claims, charter party disputes (both in Federal Court and in arbitration), collision cases, contract disputes and all types of property damage claims. Mr. Durham has argued numerous cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, as well as various United States District Courts. Mr. Durham has been published on maritime procedures in the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. As part of Mr. Durham's practice, he has been involved in major casualties including the M/T MAASGUSAR off of Japan (1989), the M/T MEGA BORG off of Galveston (1990), the M/T SETA in the Port of Houston (1991) and the M/T OMI CHARGER off of Galveston (1993). In addition to maritime cases, Mr. Durham has been involved in other commercial cases including multiparty property damage claims and antitrust litigation. In his practice, Mr. Durham represents the interests of P&I Clubs, marine underwriters, vessel owners and operators, stevedores and other commercial interests.
