Admiralty and Maritime Law:
The primary focus of the firm's legal practice is in the area of admiralty and maritime law. Since its inception, the firm has been involved in every aspect of this area of legal specialization, including personal injury and death claims asserted by seamen, longshoremen, and other maritime workers; collisions between vessels; allisions of vessels with terminals, offshore platforms and production structures, and other marine facilities; environmental claims, including oil and chemical pollution at sea, and onshore facility claims; cargo loss and damage claims; charter party drafting and disputes; and a wide variety of issues involving the various commercial and corporate aspects of the shipping industry.

All of the attorneys at Eastham, Watson, Dale & Forney specialize in maritime law and have backgrounds and training that complement the admiralty practice. While each attorney has experience in all areas of the firm's practice, most have specialized in one or more of the aforementioned practice areas. This has enabled the firm to develop a high degree of expertise in each area of maritime law. This is fostered not only by actual handling of cases, but also by legal scholarship such as authorship of law review articles, books, pamphlets, and contributions to other types of publications, and the offering of practical experience in various types of symposia, response drills, and other similar activities.
